Blundell's Achieves Accreditation For Inclusive Practice
Blundell’s has been awarded the BRIDGE Standard Accreditation by the Independent Equality and Learning Association (IELA), marking a significant milestone in our journey to embed inclusive values across every aspect of school life.
This rigorous external accreditation recognises schools that place inclusion at the heart of their culture, strategy and everyday practice. At Blundell’s, we are proud that our inclusive approach, rooted in our Kindness & Inclusion Charter and shaped by student voice, community engagement and curriculum review, has now been validated by this recognition.
Our Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Tammy Winsley, said: “The BRIDGE Standard is about more than compliance, it’s about culture. Our students are empowered to be allies, speak out against injustice and celebrate difference. We root them in values like mutual respect and give them wings to lead with empathy and courage in the world beyond Blundell’s.”
The award follows our recent ISI Inspection, which found the school to be fully compliant in all areas and awarded two Significant Strengths, highlighting the depth and impact of our co-curricular and careers provision. The report also praised the school’s inclusive and respectful environment, robust pastoral care and character development programme.
As a school with over 400 years of history and currently celebrating 50 years of co-education, we are proud of our heritage and equally proud to be future-facing, ensuring that every pupil feels a strong sense of belonging and is supported to flourish.
