Blundell’s New Developments and Facilities Upgrade

At Blundell’s, we are committed to continually enhancing our facilities to support the growth, wellbeing, and development of every pupil. Looking ahead to 2026, we are proud to share several major projects that reflect our investment in sport, physical education, and whole-school life across both the Senior and Prep Schools.

Transforming Our Swimming Pool

We are embarking on an extensive refurbishment of our swimming pool, enclosing it within a modern, state-of-the-art structure and fully upgrading the changing facilities. These improvements will enable year-round swimming lessons for all pupils, from Pre-Prep and Prep through to Year 13. The transformation will significantly enhance our provision for both competitive and recreational swimming, ensuring all pupils benefit from high-quality aquatic experiences whatever the season.

Reimagining Our Cricket Pavilion

Thanks to the generous support of one of our alumni, we are delighted to announce the development of a brand-new Cricket Pavilion on Big Field. This outstanding facility will offer enhanced teaching spaces for sports education, improved changing areas for pupils and visiting teams, and a dedicated space to celebrate Blundell’s proud sporting legacy. It will also serve as a flexible venue for school-wide events and community gatherings.
Timeline: Planning submission expected by September 2025, following a pre-planning phase.

Developing a New Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) at Blundell’s Prep

Blundell’s Prep is thrilled to announce that construction is already underway on a brand-new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), bringing exciting enhancements to the school’s sports and outdoor learning provision. This state-of-the-art, all-weather facility will provide pupils with a dynamic space for a wide range of sports and activities, whatever the season. As part of the project, the netball courts are being extended to allow for greater flexibility in training and fixtures, ensuring the continued development of young athletes at every level. Additionally, parking facilities are being expanded to improve access and ease congestion during busy drop-off and pick-up times. This project represents a significant investment in the future of sport, play, and pastoral care at Blundell’s Prep.
